Authorized Persons To Enroll Students

Who May Enroll a Student

The following individuals are authorized to enroll students in the Rochester Area School District:

  • A parent (biological or adoptive)

  • A court-appointed legal guardian

  • A foster parent appointed by a state agency

Important:
If you are not the biological or adoptive parent of the student, you must provide legal documentation confirming your authority to enroll the student. RASD only accepts official court-appointed guardianship documents.

If you are divorced from the student’s other parent, a copy of the custody section from your final court decree is required.

Verification of Identity

To verify the identity of the enrolling parent or guardian, one of the following forms of identification must be presented:

  • A valid photo driver’s license or Pennsylvania state ID card

  • A valid passport with a photo

If the enrolling individual is an agent or representative of a social services or foster care agency, appropriate agency identification is required.
