Mission Statement
Our mission is to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are committed to fostering open communication and collaboration among teachers, administrators, and parents. This team-based approach is essential to identifying, addressing, and resolving potential safety and security concerns within our schools.
Operational Plan and Overview
To fulfill this mission, the Rochester Area School District’s Safety and Security Team includes both Police Officers and Security Officers working together to maintain a strong, visible presence across the District. These officers are dedicated professionals who interact respectfully and supportively with students, staff, and parents while upholding District policies.
Daily operations are guided by established procedures and overseen by the Chief of School Police to ensure consistency, accountability, and responsiveness.
The collaboration between trained police and security personnel allows us to place enhanced focus on the following key areas:

Monitoring and managing visitors entering school property

Securing perimeter areas, including exterior doors and parking lots

Supervising student activities

Ensuring safety during sports and extracurricular events

Identifying and addressing potential conflicts and signs of bullying

Conducting thorough threat assessments
