Transition Services at Rochester Area School District

The Rochester Area School District offers comprehensive transition services for all students with IEPs between the ages of 14 and 21. These services are designed to support students in achieving post-secondary goals related to education or training, employment, and independent living.

For students in 8th and 9th grade, the focus is on career exploration and skill development in math and reading through the Keys2Work program.

Students in grades 9–12 have access to a variety of transition opportunities, including:

  • Service learning projects

  • College and technical school visits

  • Job shadowing experiences

  • School-wide career day

  • Participation in National Mentoring Day

  • Continued engagement with the Keys2Work program

These initiatives are aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and experience necessary for success beyond high school.
