Title I District Information

The Rochester Area School District values parent and family engagement as a vital part of the Title I Schoolwide program.

Under the guidance of the Parent Advisory Council and the Rochester Elementary School administration and staff, parents will be invited to participate in the Title I program through various activities, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving information via letters or meetings regarding their child’s participation in Title I supplemental instruction.

  • Periodic progress reports sent home in clear, easy-to-understand language.

  • At least one annual conference with teachers to discuss curriculum, student progress, and proficiency levels.

  • Assistance in understanding state standards, local testing, and assessments.

  • Opportunities to request meetings with school administration and staff at convenient times.

  • Provision of materials and suggestions to support learning at home.

  • Training sessions and adult literacy programs to help parents reinforce education at home.

  • Timely updates on the Title I program, including plans and evaluations.

  • Invitations for parent input in planning, development, and operation of the Title I program and parent compact.

  • Collaboration between the school and parents to achieve Title I program goals.

  • Encouragement for parents to join the Parent Advisory Council (PAC), which meets at least three times annually.

  • Support for parents to use Title I funds for parent involvement conferences (SPAC) and approved activities.

  • Active parent involvement in developing and revising the Rochester Elementary Title I Schoolwide Plan.
