    Dr. Jane Bovalino 
    Superintendent of Schools

    Dr. Bovalino has been the Superintendent of Schools at Rochester Area School District since 2013. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Dr. Bovalino began teaching. With over 25 years of experience, she was a substitute teacher at Riverside High School, a math teacher at Western Beaver Area School District, and an English and math teacher at Beaver Falls Middle School. While employed by the Big Beaver Falls Area School District, Dr. Bovalino earned her Principal’s certificate, Master’s in Education, Administrative and Policy Studies, Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility and Doctorate - all through the University of Pittsburgh. She has held a variety of administrative positions including Assistant Middle School Principal, Middle School Principal and Assistant to the Superintendent. Dr. Bovalino, her husband and two daughters reside in Beaver County.

    Mr. Damon
    Mr. Michael S. Damon
    6-12 Principal

    Mr. Damon joined the Rochester Area School District during the 2011-2012 school year.  Prior to administration, Mr. Damon taught Spanish for 19 years. In addition to Spanish, Mr. Damon has taught both Driver’s Training and Yearbook.  He has also enjoyed being involved in extracurricular activities, including coaching volleyball, track and field and football.  Mr. Damon completed his undergraduate degree at Geneva College and his Masters in Education and Administrative Leadership at Duquesne University.  Mr. Damon resides in Lawrence County with his daughter.

    Miss Amanda Cwynar
    K-5 Principal

    Miss Cwynar joined the Rochester Area School District after teaching Special Education at New Brighton High School for nine years. In addition to her duties as a teacher, Miss Cwynar was also the Transition Coordinator at New Brighton. She has a passion for sports and has coached both soccer and softball. Miss Cwynar received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from Geneva College, her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion and her Principal’s Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.

    Kathleen Gomory Onuska
    Mrs. Kathleen Onuska
    Business Manager

    Mrs. Onuska joined the Rochester School District administrative staff in the 2015-2016 School year. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has worked for several accounting firms in the county, as well as school districts. Mrs. Onuska received her Master’s Degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia and undergraduate degrees at both Robert Morris University and Penn State. She is a former Rochester graduate. Her father Jim Gomory was the Physical Education teacher from 1954 to 1988 and two of her four children are successful Rochester graduates. Mrs. Onuska is happy to be home again!

    Mr. Long
    Mr. Nick Long
    Director of Special Education / Title lX Coordinator 

    Mr. Long has been with the Rochester Area School District since 2002.  He has been supervising the Special Education Department since the 2013-2014 school year. Mr. Long’s duties also include Gifted Education, ESL, Homeless/Foster Liaison, Special Olympics Unified Sports Liaison, AEDY Coordinator, and Title IX. Previously, Mr. Long served as a special education teacher working in the learning, emotional, and alternative education programs as well as serving as the transition coordinator. Mr. Long received his undergraduate degree at Slippery Rock University in Elementary and Special Education and completed his graduate work there as well in Special Education Supervision. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Special Educator Fellowship and Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE). Mr. Long is a proud graduate of Rochester and still resides there with his wife and two children.

    RJ Bobin
    Mr. Rodney Bobin
    Director of District Technology
    Mr. Bobin has been with the Rochester Area School District since 2015 and has been the Technology Director in the Big Beaver Falls Area School District for the last 18 years. Mr. Bobin is currently managing the technology in three school districts (Big Beaver Falls, New Brighton, and Rochester) and is part of an innovative initiative to share technology services between public schools. Mr. Bobin began his career in education as a Physics and Environmental Science teacher. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and Physics from the Pennsylvania State University and earned a Master’s Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Information Technology. Mr. Bobin is the proud father of 3 boys and has dedicated himself to public education.





    Mr. Ryan Herstine
    Technology Coordinator
    Mr. Ryan Herstine is the Technology Coordinator at the Rochester Area School District in partnership with the New Brighton Area School District. Over his 15 years of experience, he has held a variety of technical and audio/visual positions including working as a student volunteer in high school. He has worked in family-owned businesses for most of his career; working previously at a multi-million dollar company in Downtown Pittsburgh as their Associate of Technology. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Pittsburgh Technical Institute where he excelled among his peers. Ryan joined Rochester School District in 2015, and was eager to work closer to home allowing him to spend more time with his wife and their newborn son, Elijah.  Ryan and his family are proud Beaver Countians.

    Mr. Lou Campisi
    Director of Building and Grounds

    Mr. Campisi has been with the District since 2009. He is a Licensed Master Plumber and spent 20 years in his family’s construction business before moving on to work in the hospitality industry for the Holiday Inn Hotel brand in the maintenance department as a Maintenance Engineer and also Chief Engineer. Mr. Campisi is the Cultural Diversity Sponsor and Freshman\Sophomore Class Sponsor. He spent 20 years as a coach in the Rochester Area Baseball\Softball League and Rochester Little Ram organizations. He is currently an assistant coach for the Rochester Unified Bocce team. Mr. Campisi lives in Beaver County with his wife, is a 1985 Rochester graduate and three of his four daughters are Rochester graduates as well. He is proud to be able to work for and give back to his Alma Mater.
