Welcome to the Rochester Area School District!

Our school community is unique in that all of our students, from kindergarten through twelfth grade, are educated in the same K-12 complex. This setup allows our students and staff to develop close, interpersonal relationships. The RASD serves the children in Rochester Township, Rochester Borough and East Rochester. We have approximately 770 students in our district.

We are fortunate to have  dedicated faculty and staff members who challenge themselves to provide quality learning experiences for our students. Recently, our staff and community collaborated to revise our district’s comprehensive plan. This plan sets our course for the next six years for our school district. The Comprehensive Plan also guides the superintendent's goals. We have four main goals for our district.

These overarching goals include the following:

HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS/ IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT - Increase student achievement in reading, math and science and decrease the achievement gap.

  • K-12 Curriculum Mapping and Alignment
  • Data Analysis
  • K-12 Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) program implementation

SUPPORTIVE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES - Establish direct and community support systems that fully ensures the school community understands the importance of attending school on a consistent basis. Identify appropriate supports for families that are often necessary for students to be successful in school.

  • Attendance Supports (School Attendance Improvement Conferences)
  • K-12 School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (SWPBIS) implementation
  • K-12 Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) program implementation

CREATING POSITIVE RELATIONS – Continue to improve internal and external educational relationships within our school community to utilize resources and foster supportive programs and environments that are vital to the success of the district.

  • Community Partnerships/Community Involvement
