The mission of Rochester Area School District is to utilize a unique K-12 educational complex by providing all students the opportunity to realize their maximum academic potential in a rapidly changing world.

Mission

The Rochester Area School District, a K-12 learning community, is committed to developing 21st century skilled citizens, lifelong learners, and critical thinkers through a rigorous curriculum.

Vision

We envision our students making positive contributions to their community by demonstrating the core values of respect, responsibility, and citizenship.

Shared Values

  1. All students can learn.
  2. Students learn in different ways and at different rates.
  3. Students need to be lifelong learners.
  4. The key aspect of education is developing well-rounded students who think creatively and critically to make informed decisions and solve problems.
  5. Education enables an individual to be a responsible, self-disciplined member of society.
  6. Educational and cultural diversity enriches the educational experience for students.
  7. A safe and caring environment is important to students and staff.
  8. Education is a collaborative partnership with the Board of Education, staff, students, families, and resources in the community.
  9. The stakeholders in our learning community will conduct themselves with respect and with the student’s best interest in mind.

 Rochester Area SD District Level Plan

The Rochester Area SD is committed to using these goals as the blueprint for guiding the school district through the years.

 

Goal 1: HIGH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

To increase student achievement in reading and mathematics and decrease the achievement gap between the "all" category and the "at risk" category by 1/6 each year within the next six years (2013/2014 - 2018/2019).

Goal 2: SAFE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES

Provide a safe and nurturing environment for our children to achieve academic success.

Goal 3: CREATING POSITIVE RELATIONS

Improve the internal and external relationships within the school and community.

  • Increase in Communication & Appearance of Facility

Goal 4: TECHNOLOGY

Increase the technology resources that are available for our students and improve the integration of these resources.
